On The Road brings the spirit of 5 Point to communities across the country and around the world. Each tour stop features a curated selection of meaningful, high-energy short documentaries that celebrate adventure, the human spirit, and the power of storytelling—drawn from the annual Flagship Festival in Carbondale, Colorado.

step one - lock in a venue
Tour hosts are responsible for securing a venue and setting the event date. The space should be equipped with a professional-grade projector, screen, sound system, and a skilled A/V technician. Screenings run roughly two hours, so make sure there’s time for tech setup and breakdown (plan for at least three hours of prep before doors open). If tickets will be sold on site, the host should also arrange for box office support.
Step Two – Choose Your Program
With our On The Road Festival Tour, you can choose between:
- Standard Reels – choose between three ready-to-go reels featuring standout films from our Flagship Festival.
- The 5 Point Core Reel - a mix of adventure and human stories, this reel has something for everyone. It reflects the core of the 5 Point experience: a blend of excitement, depth, and variety.
- The Adventure Reel - High energy, high impact. This reel is packed with pure adventure—stories of people pushing limits and living life on the edge. Ideal for adrenaline-loving audiences.
- The Changemakers Reel - Spotlighting individuals who are driving meaningful change in their communities and beyond through adventure and the outdoors.
- Custom Reel –Every audience is different. Whether you’re screening in a mountain town theater, a university campus, or a local brewery, we’ll help you build a reel that resonates. Our programming team brings deep festival expertise and audience insight to ensure your event feels intentional, inspiring, and memorable.

- Special Guest/Emcee ($1000 +Travel and Accomodations): We can help coordinate a special guest from the films or the broader 5 Point community to attend and/or emcee your event.

Step THREE – COMplete our otr vendor form
Fill out our On The Road vendor form with as much information as you can. This helps us with marketing your event on our website. If you're need more information before completing the form, feel free to email charlie@5pointfilm.org.
Step FOUR – Spread the Word & Pack the House
To help make your event a success, 5 Point provides hosts with a full suite of marketing tools—including posters, trailers, still images, film blurbs, logos and more. Hosts are expected to lead local outreach through social media, poster distribution, and partnerships with community groups and press. You’re also in charge of ticket sales and event logistics. All ticket revenue goes directly to you.
Additional Host Responsibilities
Emceeing the Event
A representative from your team is welcome to emcee the show. 5 Point provides talking points, film background info, and a hosting guide to help your presenter lead the evening with confidence and authenticity.
Technical Setup
To ensure smooth playback, hosts need access to a high-res digital projector (HDMI-compatible), a strong audio system, microphones, lighting, and a screen. A dedicated A/V tech must be present to run the show from tech check through to wrap.
You’ll need a reliable laptop with HDMI output and a solid internal hard drive (at least 90 GB free) for downloading and playing the film program. Our files are optimized for playback from Apple laptops.
If your venue requires a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for projection—common at some drive-ins or cinemas—we can supply one for an additional charge. Please confirm technical requirements with your venue early and secure a projectionist if needed.

Our staff is here to help ensure your event is smooth and successful. We’re happy to answer questions, share insights, and provide support from planning to screening night.
For every host, we provide: an editable poster, a 30 sec edit and full version of the 5 Point Film Festival trailer, a selection of high-quality stills from the films, a comprehensive event marketing and operations timelines, a customizable press release and your event listed as an official On The Road tour stop on our website.
